• The department has been established in 1971, pioneer in Microbiology in Saurashtra and Kutch region. The main aim of the trust to start B.Sc in Microbiology was to educate women with the subject, which is highly applicable in day to day life for the welfare of self, family and consequently society.
• The results of department are on an average above 80% with maximum first class. Normally students of this department secure rank among university‘s top ten. The department organizes study tour at relevant places and thus it provides better exposure to applied fields such as blood bank and sewage treatment plant etc. The teaching faculties are Ph.D guide, invited for P.G. teaching at department of university and about 16 publications have been done in nationally and internationally reputed journals.
• The students are encouraged and guided by experienced faculty members for active participation in academic activities like poster presentation, model preparation , quiz competitions and oral presentation at various national and state level events, which has resulted into the students winning accolades and credits for the institute.
• The faculties are good enough to provide encouragement for overall development to the students.
